Shopify settles a payout as one net number: gross sales, minus processing fees, minus refunds, equals the amount that lands in your bank account. Ledgerly posts that same math as one balanced journal in Xero, with a line for each part, netting to the deposit. Nothing is invented and nothing is left out. Open the journal in Xero and check it against the payout Shopify reported.
Common questions
Does it create products, customers, or per-order invoices in Xero?
No. There is nothing to duplicate or mismatch. Ledgerly posts one balanced journal per settled
payout, and that is all it writes.
Does the price change as I grow?
No. Two plans, that is it: free up to 50 orders a month, or one flat monthly rate with unlimited
orders. No usage tiers, no add-on modules, no line items that show up later.
How does the price compare to A2X, Synder, Link My Books, or Bookkeep?
Those apps price by usage. As of July 2026, A2X starts at $29 a month with no free tier, Synder
starts at $65 a month billed by transaction count rather than order count, Link My Books prices
by order volume and channel count (its Shopify App Store listing shows $21 a month for 200
orders on one channel), and Bookkeep's $19 tier caps out at $200,000 in revenue a year, then
steps up. Their pricing pages are the source of truth if you're reading this later. Ledgerly has
a real free tier for smaller stores, and one flat $19 a month covers everything else, no matter
how many orders or how much revenue you do.
How long does setup take?
Minutes. Connect Xero, pick the five accounts your journals should post to, and Ledgerly imports
your recent payout history. No mapping spreadsheets, no rules engine.
How do I know a journal is right?
Every journal shows its breakdown in the app: sales, processor deductions, refunds, and
adjustments, netting to the payout Shopify reported. You can check any journal against its payout
before you trust the automation, and the journal carries the payout reference into Xero.
Is the free plan a trial?
No. It is a real plan that keeps working: settlement journals for up to 50 orders a month, with
manual sync and the full posting history. The paid plan adds automated nightly posting, unlimited
orders, and clearing lines for PayPal, Stripe, and manual gateways.
Who answers support?
